What is ovestine?
Ovestin contains estriol, a weak natural estrogen that is applied locally in the vaginal range. It is used to treat complaints due to lack of estrogen in the intimate area – often after the change years.
Ovestin is available as vaginal cream and as vaginal cups (Ovula). Since estriol only acts locally and hardly reaches the bloodstream, it has significantly fewer systemic side effects than oral hormone replacement therapies.
